Mercedes focuses her practice on advising both local and international clients in all matters related to intellectual property, such as trademark availability searches, legal opinions, prosecution and monitoring of trademarks, patents, industrial models and designs; portfolio management and handling of cases related to domain names.

With over 20 years’ experience, she stands out for her strong commercial profile and management of trademark portfolios of international companies.

Mercedes has been recognized by the most relevant rankings, amongst others, IP STARS (2020/2021) and TOP 250 Women in IP (2018, 2019 and 2021).

Experience

Mercedes started working in industrial property in 1990, in the trademark team of Clarke Modet & Cía (Argentina).

In 2001, she was part of the opening of the Intellectual Property department in one of the leading firms of Buenos Aires: Bruchou Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani.

She was a partner at Mitrani, Caballero & Ojam, until founding Berton Moreno + Ojam in 2017. Since 2020, she is one of the founding partners of Ojam Bullrich Flanzbaum.
